2018 NTABL News
The Winter Manager’s Meeting will Be Tuesday, February 6, 7:00PM at Palios Pizza Cafe, 825 W. Royal Lane, Ste 120, Las Colinas, TX 75039.
All returning and prospective managers need to plan on attending or sending a team representative.
Teams can secure a spot with a $500 REFUNDABLE deposit which will get your team listed on the Teams page. This will allow inquiring players to contact you directly to arrange a workout session.
Tryouts for the spring/summer season will be Saturday, March 3. 9AM, Reverchon Park.
Team fee balances will be due March 11. Teams not paid in full will not be on the schedule. No exceptions. Players who have paid will have a chance to hook up with another team or have their money refunded.
Games will begin the week following Easter.
One minor rules tweak for the Veterans, Masters and Legacy Divisions. Age exempted players will not be allowed to pitch unless they were in their respective division the season before. In other words, no new age exempted pitchers.
What stays the same for 2018?
Kirk Pruitt will return in his role of President and be responsible for the scheduling, league communications, team and player development, constitution and rules, interface with the national office as well as entertain big ideas for the overall benefit of the league. Kirk also breaks all ties for disputes or disciplinary log jams.
The rest of our leadership team returns intact with Anthony Cass as the VP of the 55+ Legacy Division, Bobby Caltabiano as VP of the 45+ Masters Division, Bill Macey as VP of the 35+ Veterans Division, Jason Bottenfield as Open National VP and Mark Adams as the Open American VP. Sam Kayea returns as the Director of Fields and Umpires and Shawn Lee begins his fifth tour as our Social Media Coordinator. Gerry Mecca will continue to serve as Treasurer. He’ll focus on all financial matters including registration payment, player eligibility, financial reporting and also the philanthropic leadership and focus. Mark Adams returns as Chairperson for our Scottish Rite Charity All Star Games at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco.
Payment options will remain the same; all major credit cards, cash and PayPal. Team fees bump slightly (about $10 per player, sorry) for all divisions. Even with the increase, average cost to play is still about $15 per game. Team fees still include fields, lights, umpires, high quality baseballs, team score book, website, email game reminders, text messaging system for rain outs and urgent messages, league administration, MSBL National Membership, liability and secondary medical insurance.

Rookie League starts on the Saturday one week BEFORE Memorial Weekend and is a 10 game, $165 per player developmental and player pool league that plays doubleheaders over 6 Saturdays. This program filled UP last year, so sign up soon if you want to play. Players on rosters from any other NTABL division can play in the Rookie League for half price ($82.50).
Fall League starts around Labor Day is a 10 game plus single elimination playoff open league that plays 7-inning, 2-hour time limit games twice a week, one weekday and one Sunday. Team fees and deposit date TBD. We typically have two divisions – Competitive and Recreational.
What do you need to do?
If you are a manager, contact your players and get started collecting fees. If you are a player, contact your manager from last season or sign up for the free agent list in the division you want to play.
The registration system will be open January 14 so managers can begin setting their teams up and gathering fees.
Returning teams contact your VP if you want last year’s team copied over (we cannot give out info for players not on your past roster).
Thanks for choosing the NTABL.
